Fundraising for the rebuild of Shree Bhimsen Secondary school is slow going at the moment and we are always on the look out for new ways to raise money.  We have a few new ways for you to help out.  

Have your name added to our Acknowledgement Wall by buying a brick.  Join our "Buy a Brick" Campaign ... an individual brick will only cost you $10, a family brick $30 and a corporate brick $100. Buy as many as you like.  Go to our website umbrellaaustralia.org, click on current projects, Buy a Brick Campaign and pick your brick ... it's as easy as that!

or you can go to  GoFundMe.  Search for The Umbrella Foundation Australia and click on Donate Now.  As little as $5 will help.  How about giving up your coffee for a week and donate the money you would spend, make your lunch at home and donate the money you would spend on lunch  .... give up smoking for a week and donate the money you would spend .... there are many way to help.

If you are feeling adventurous then why not join us in the Everest Base Camp Challenge which starts 15 October this year.  This is a fully escorted trip to Everest Base Camp including a trip to visit our school and a day riding the rapids on the Sunkoshi River.  All profits from this challenge will be donated to the school rebuild. 

This school is in one of the worst affected areas in the 2015 Earthquake.    The school is attended by 252 children who walk an average of 1 1/2 hours daily to attend their classes and is located in Khatrithok, Sindhupalchowk.  This particular school was chosen because of the desperate need within the community and the proximity to Kathmandu which will allow anyone supporting them to visit should you have the opportunity to be in Nepal.  The main building of the school is badly damaged and dangerous.  There are 4 class rooms for the 252 children and they have limited desks with many of the children sitting on the floor.   A lot of donations have been raised by Australian Schools and we would love the opportunity to establish a friendship program between these schools.  Can you imagine the benefits ... not only for the Nepali students but also for Australian students to experience a cultural exchange program and be able to visit ... donate some time to do community projects or even do a trek.
